Grammy & Papa Lou Blogging

Never thought there would be a day that WE would "blog", but here we are! C'mon, y'all, now if we can do it, so can all of you!! This is really a great thing that Eric has set up for us all to talk about and plan for TRASH '08. Thanks, Eric!

Plans: We have reservations at YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, Winter Park, CO
beginning Sunday, June 22 - Wed, June 25. We can't check in until around 3 pm on Sunday. We were thinking it would be nice if the majority of you could be in Denver area maybe on Friday. We realize it depends on your work, travel plans, etc. That way, we could stay at La Quinta, which is near Tracy's (they have a pool) and do some things in the Denver area before going up to our mountain retreat. We could also do some planning as to what everyone wants to do once we get up there. I've heard interest in hiking, biking, Alpine slide, rafting, fishing. We would probably have to make reservations for some activities prior to going there, ie. rafting.

Tracy reserved a Family Reunion Cabin, which has 8 separate bedrooms and each has their own bathroom. I think you may be able to see a floor plan on some of the info Eric has put on this site. It will be either the Independence or Heritage Reunion Cabin.

Don't know about you, but Papa Lou and I are excited about this. Should be lots of fun!

blog.trashfund.com

So here we are.

This is the first official blog entry on the T.R.A.S.H. family reunion. My intention was that this would be a good way to broadcast useful or at least fun information pertaining to the upcoming T.R.A.S.H family reunion. Considering this has been in place for months and Tracy has not done anything with it yet... or as far as I know even told anyone about it, obviously she does not agree with the usefulness of having a blog. Once again, I prove to be the geek of the family, because I still think there is a possibility of this working out well.

So, if you are a member of the T.R.A.S.H. family and wish to contribute to the site there are a couple of things we can do.

  1. We have the ability to add you on as a contributor of the site. You would probably have to register with Google, but that is not a big deal. As of right now, Tracy is an admin of the blog and so am I. Grammy and Papa Lou have been sent an invitation to be contributors but have not yet come in and signed up yet.

If you would like to be a contributor, send me or Tracy an email and we will put you in.

  2. I also have an email address that you can use to submit blogs. In other words, you compose your blog in an email and send it to the address. I do not want to publish the email address here because it is a public blog, but if you would like to know it, email someone who knows it and we will certainly give it to you. Just don't share with someone who does not belong.

There are also some other fun (fun for computer geeks like me anyway) features that I think are pretty nice. Again, I am sure Tracy will roll her eyes when she reads this. But then, she knew I was a geek when she married me, so it is her own fault.

  1. I am able to create 90 or so email addresses @trashfund.com. It uses email forwarding, so you cannot get rid of your current email address, but if you would like a trashfund.com email address, just let me know. I have one. Tracy has one. I even made one for Grammy and Papa Lou although I have not told them about it yet. When you ask me, just tell me what you want the address to be yourname@trashfund.com and what address you want to your email to be forwarded to.

  2. When a post is submitted you can receive an email with the blog as the body of the email. Again, if this is something you would like, let me or Tracy know. We will take care of you.

If you do end up blogging here, keep in mind that you should not post any real personal information. Do not put your email address up here, or else you will get spam. Do not put your address or phone number up here. Do not post bank accounts, credit card numbers, locker combinations or anything you need to keep private.

So, there you are. I hope that soon someone will post information about the reunion itself. I hope you all enjoy the blog, or at least find it somewhat amusing to consider what a geek Tracy married.
